Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating, also known as ‘Hyperhidrosis’ can profoundly affect self-consciousness and be a seriously embarrassing condition. When severe sweating interferes with daily activities, it can cause great emotional and psychological upset, especially when it is sweating from the underarms. It is estimated that up to 15% of the population suffers from some form of hyperhidrosis during their lives.

This can affect the entire body or only localized areas, like the feet, hands, and underarms. The latter is known as axillary hyperhidrosis, which we have treatments for here at Bliss Skin, Hair and Dental Clinic. When this condition develops during childhood or after puberty, it is usually primary hyperhidrosis that does not have a specific cause. Secondary hyperhidrosis is usually triggered by a condition, like pregnancy, hyperthyroidism, obesity, menopause, or even anxiety.

Our patients seeking treatment for hyperhidrosis may be frustrated that anti-perspirant just is not working; they may be constantly worried that people might notice their sweat stains, or they may refrain from buying certain clothes as they fear they will be ruined by their underarm sweat.

Here at Bliss Skin, Hair and Dental Clinic, our cosmetic doctors are highly experienced in all non-surgical procedures and wells as surgical, including hyperhidrosis treatment. If you are considering treatment for excessive sweating then the first step is to book in for an initial consultation, to ascertain how sweating affects you, and what type of hyperhidrosis you have. At this point, we can begin to recommend a treatment and costing plan to suit you, your availability for downtime, and your budget.
